Body of Water tells the story of acclaimed war photographer Stephanie (Sian Brooke). Having just completed another round of treatment for chronic anorexia, Stephanie is working hard to reconnect with her family. Her mother Susan (Amanda Burton) is supportive but preoccupied by her forthcoming wedding to Annette (Kazia Pelka). Meanwhile Stephanie’s teenage daughter Pearl (Fabienne Piolini-Castle), is full of resentment, refusing to give her mother a second chance. Stephanie will need all her strength to keep her head above water.
This movie is written and directed by British filmmaker Lucy Brydon, in her feature directorial debut.

Body of Water initially premiered at the Glasgow Film Festival in February 2020. It will be released in UK cinemas on October 16, 2020.
British actress Sian Brooke (age 40) plays the lead role of Stephanie. Brooke is known for portraying Eurus Holmes in the British crime television series Sherlock. She has appeared in several TV series including Dinotopia, All About George, Cape Wrath, Lewis, Not Safe for Work, The Moorside, and Doctor Foster. Her theatre work includes Romeo and Juliet, King Lear, Poor Beck, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, In the Club, The Birthday Party, Ecstasy, Reasons to be Pretty, Tartuffe, Hamlet, and I’m Not Running.
