Power Book II: Ghost is an American drama series created by Courtney A. Kemp that premiered on September 6, 2020 on STARZ. The series is a spinoff of the long-running series, Power. It was renewed for a second season in September 2020.
It picks up the narrative just days after the Power finale when Tariq tries to get his mother Tasha out of jail after she took the fall for him in the murder of his father, James St. Patrick or Ghost. The sequel then follows Tariq navigating his new life, in which his desire to shed his father’s legacy comes up against the mounting pressure to save his family.
On July 26, 2019, it was announced by Starz that Mary J. Blige would star in the series. Method Man was cast in a main role on January 14, 2020.
The Power Book II: Ghost had 7.5 million multiplatform views in its debut week, It is STARZ’s most-watched new series and reportedly drove STARZ app’s subscriber acquisition by 42%. The series also set new records as the top-performing series across the Starzplay International streaming platform in several countries.
