Blake Shelton said, “We don’t get a lot of rock artists. And I feel like the fact that I can do the (sings a line from the song), and you think it’s pretty good means that we might have something going here.” He later said that if he couldn’t have been a country singer, his fantasy would have been ’80s rock.
John Legend began his comment by singing the line “in my hands” just like Blake. He said, “I can rock. You’ll notice, I turned a lot earlier than Blake. You entered the song with such charisma. You had a certain amount of energy. And I don’t turn as much as I should. But when I heard your voice, I was like,”I need this guy on my team.” It would be really cool for you to do something unexpected. People don’t think you would come to John Legend for rock. I feel like we can rock out together.”
Gwen Stefani said, “I got to be honest, some of those 90’s songs are like a trigger for me. I probably have to go see my therapist after that.”
Kelly Clarkson commented that she loves the rock genre as well and thinks it’s kind of a dying one. She said Aaron definitely stand out above everyone because they don’t have anybody like him.
