Baby Alien was unmasked and his identity was revealed after getting the least votes during The Group B Play Offs (Week 4) on The Masked Singer Season 4 (2020).
Before his unmasking, Baby Alien performed a cover of “It’s Time” by Imagine Dragons.
So who is the Baby Alien Masked Singer?
Many of The Masked Singer fans were unable to guess who Baby Alien is. Some were pretty sure that Baby Alien was either Sam Riegel or Jason Segel. Most fans were surprised when Baby Alien was unmasked and he turned out to be retired American NFL player Mark Sanchez. No one among the panelists guessed that Baby Alien is none other than Sanchez.
The first impression guesses of the panelists also failed to pin down who the celebrity is behind the Baby Alien masked singer. Jenny McCarthy initially thought Giraffe was American actor Ralph Macchio but later changed her first impression guess to American actor, comedian, writer, and producer Nick Kroll based on the onstage clues.
Ken Jeong‘s first impression of Baby Alien was American actor and “Friends” star Matt LeBlanc. Jeong changed his guess to American actor, writer and producer Freddie Prinze Jr.
Robin Thicke‘s first impression guess was the puppet character Triumph the Insult Comic Dog by Robert Smigel. But with the clues presented, he later changed his guess to American actor and comedian Jason Biggs.
Nicole Scherzinger‘s first impression guess was American actor, comedian, director, producer and Friends cast member David Schwimmer. Based on the clues given, Nicole changed her guess to American ventriloquist, stand-up comedian, and actor Jeff Dunham.
Guest panelist Joel McHale made the nearest guess when he mentioned American football quarterback Tom Brady. But like the rest of the panelists, he changed his guess to Australian actor Eric Bana.

After Sanchez was unmasked, host Nick Cannon commented on Sanchez’s comedic timing and fake European accent. Sanchez said the best part of being the Baby Alien is sharing the experience with his son who learned the words of the songs he performed on the show.
Some of the Baby Alien clues were explained during the unmasking. The Tony Award is a clue to Sanchez’s appearance as a guest presenter in 2010. The hot dog is a nod to his viral NFL sideline moment where he ate a hotdog during a game. The roses are a clue to Sanchez leading the USC Trojans to a Rose Bowl victory as their MVP.
Mark Sanchez (age 33) is a former football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 10 seasons. He played college football at the University of Southern California (USC). He was named the starter in 2008, and led USC to a 12-1 record and won the Rose Bowl against Penn State.
Despite a subpar first season, Sanchez led the Jets to the AFC Championship Game. He is the fourth rookie quarterback in NFL history to win his first playoff game and the second to win two playoff games. In his second season, he joined Ben Roethlisberger as the only two quarterbacks in NFL history to reach the conference championship in their first two seasons in the league.
The Masked Singer is an American reality singing competition TV series and is part of the Masked Singer franchise featuring celebrities in head-to-toe costumes and face masks which conceal their identities from other contestants, panelists, and an audience. It premiered on Fox on January 2, 2019, and is hosted by Nick Cannon. The series was renewed for a fourth season and aire its first episode on September 23, 2020.

The host and all of the panelists returned for their fourth season. For the first time in the show, the panelists engaged in a competition for the Golden Ear. During the first three episodes, after each celebrity contestant’s initial performance along with an initial clue package, each judge/ panelist wrote their first impressions-based guess at the identity of the celebrity. Those guesses will be revealed after each celebrity was unmasked, with panelists scoring a point for each celebrity they got correct from their initial first impression. The panelist with the most correct answers will be declared the winner of the Golden Ear.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the location was changed from Television City to Red Studios Hollywood. Safety protocols implemented for the show included tapings to have a virtual audience, and that the judging panel will be 8 feet apart from each other. Many of the clues packaged also used animation by Bento Box Entertainment as opposed to live-action filming.
Fox Alternative Entertainment president Rob Wade said that the show used “various quarantining and various camera tricks” to preserve the visible presence of a studio audience. A “virtual audience” was incorporated into voting.
The Masked Singer Season 4 has 16 contestants, including the first-ever two-headed duet costume and the first puppet costume. The contestants of this season are said to have 46 Grammy nominations, 23 platinum records, 10 Hall of Fame appearances, and one Olympic gold medalist.
