Bridgerton is an upcoming American period drama television series created by Chris Van Dusen and produced by Shonda Rhimes. The series is inspired by the bestselling novels of Julia Quinn, that follows the competitive world of Regency London high society and centers on the close-knit siblings of the powerful Bridgerton family as they attempt to find love.
Julie Andrews will voice the pivotal character of Lady Whistledown. Bridgerton is set to premiere on December 25, 2020, on Netflix.

Netflix announced that Shonda Rhimes will produce the Bridgerton series based on Julia Quinn’s best-selling novels on July 20, 2018, with Chris Van Dusen as the showrunner. Roughly a year after, on June 19, 2019, Julie Andrews was cast as Lady Whistledown, the narrator of the series. On July 10, 2019, it was announced that Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Page will play lead roles in the series, while Jonathan Bailey, Golda Rosheuvel, Luke Newton, Claudia Jessie, Nicola Coughlan, Ruby Barker, Sabrina Bartlett, Ruth Gemmell, Adjoa Andoh and Polly Walker was cast in as regulars. Bridgerton has been filming in London and Bath, Somerset.
It was announced in October 2020 that Bridgerton would be released on Netflix on December 25, 2020.
