Everything Everywhere All at Once is a 2022 American absurdist comedy-drama film written and directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (collectively known as Daniels), who previously co-directed and co-wrote the acclaimed film Swiss Army Man. It had its world premiere on March 11, 2022 at the South by Southwest Film Festival.
This hilarious sci-fi action adventure film was released in select US theaters on March 25, 2022, followed by a wide release on April 8, 2022. An extended version was re-released in U.S. theaters on July 29, 2022. Everything Everywhere All at Once was re-released again in U.S. theaters on January 27, 2023, on 1,400 screens to mark its Oscar nominations. A24 recently made a wider release of the film on March 3, 2023.
Everything Everywhere All at Once is produced by Virginie Besson-Silla, Mike Larocca, Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Jonathan Wang, and The Daniels with lead star Michelle Yeoh serving as one of the film’s executive producers.
The film was a commercial success, with a worldwide gross of over $107 million, becoming A24’s first film to cross the $100 million mark. Everything Everywhere All at Once also received near-universal acclaim for its direction and screenplay, originality, performances, visual effects, and action sequences. The film has garnered a total of 335 wins and 357 nominations so far. It earned a leading 11 nominations at the 95th Academy Awards (including Best Picture) and also won two Golden Globe Awards, five Critics’ Choice Awards (including Best Picture), one BAFTA Award, a record four SAG Awards (including Best Ensemble), and seven Independent Spirit Awards (including Best Feature).
