Outlander Season 7 Episode 2
Outlander is a historical drama television series based on the Outlander novel series by Diana Gabaldon. Developed by Ronald D. Moore, the show premiered on August 9, 2014, on Starz. It was renewed through to the eighth and final season. The seventh season, which consists of 16 episodes split into two parts of eight episodes each, premiered on June 16, 2023. The back half will be airing in 2024.
The series stars Caitríona Balfe as Claire Randall, a former Second World War military nurse in Scotland who, in 1945, finds herself transported back in time to 1743. There she encounters, falls in love with and marries a dashing Highland warrior named Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), a tacksman of Gabaldon’s fictionalized version of Clan Fraser of Lovat. Here, Claire becomes embroiled in the Jacobite rising.
The first season of the television series is based on the first novel in the series, Outlander. The second season is based on Dragonfly in Amber; the third season on Voyager; the fourth season, on Drums of Autumn; the fifth season on The Fiery Cross; the sixth on A Breath of Snow and Ashes; and the seventh season is based on An Echo in the Bone. In Season 7, the Frasers have to navigate the Revolutionary War in order to protect what they’ve built. They learn that sometimes to defend what you love, you have to leave it behind.
Development had begun by February 2022, on a prequel series titled Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which will focus on Jamie Fraser’s parents Brian and Ellen Fraser.
