The Afterparty is an American m—er mystery comedy television series created by Christopher Miller that premiered on Apple TV+ on January 28, 2022. In March 2022 the series was renewed for a second season, which is set to premiere with its first two episodes on July 12, 2023 on Apple TV+.
In the first season of the series, a high school reunion’s afterparty ends in a stunning death, and everyone is a suspect. A detective (Tiffany Haddish) grills the former classmates one by one, uncovering potential motives as each tells their version of the story, culminating in the shocking truth. In Season Two, a wedding is ruined when the groom is m—ered and every guest becomes a suspect.
Each episode of “The Afterparty” explores a different character’s account of one fateful evening, all told through the lens of popular film genres and unique visuals to match the storyteller’s perspective. Season two will introduce new film genres and an expanded cast of characters played by Elizabeth Perkins, Zach Woods, Paul Walter Hauser, Poppy Liu, Anna Konkle, Jack Whitehall, Vivian Wu, John Cho, and Ken Jeong.
