The Queen Mary (aka Haunting of the Queen Mary) is a British horror film directed by Gary Shore, who previously directed the acclaimed fantasy horror Dracula Untold. The screenplay is co-written by Shore and Tom Vaughan. The film is set to be released in the US on August 18, 2023.
The mystery horror drama is produced by Laurie Cook, Nicholas Ferrall, Jason Newmark, Thorsten Schumacher, Nigel Sinclair, Lars Sylvest, and Brett Tomberlin. The Queen Mary stars Alice Eve, Nell Hudson, Joel Fry, Angus Wright, and Lenny Rush.
The Queen Mary would serve as the first in a trilogy of horror films about the RMS Queen Mary, a retired ocean liner that is permanently moored in Long Beach, California. Filming reportedly took place onboard the real RMS Queen Mary in November 2021.
The film tells the story of a family who sails on the ocean liner RMS Queen Mary in 1938. A curse rests on the craft and along the way a raging David k—s his entire family. Decades later, photographers Erin and Patrick Calder, together with their son Lukas, go onboard the Queen Mary for a business trip. Lukas soon stumbles upon the bloody past of the luxury ship and becomes possessed by it. As the terror unfolds around them, they begin to realise there is more to The Queen Mary than meets the eye.
