After almost thirty years of playing Jack McCoy, Sam Waterston is leaving Law & Order and his final episode aired February 22, 2024 on the current season’s fifth episode. He was replaced by Tony Goldwyn, who plays the role of Nicholas Baxter, the new District Attorney.
