Crazy Rich Asians is based on Kevin Kwan‘s 2013 novel named “Crazy Rich Asians.” The movie was directed by American filmmaker Jon M. Chu.

Crazy Rich Asians is now considered as one of the most successful romantic comedy movies in the last 10 years. The 2009 movie of Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds titled “The Proposal” did well at the box office as well.

The sequel to Crazy Rich Asians (2018) is reportedly in the works with Jon M. Chu to be the director again. As of this writing, Warner Brothers has not officially greenlighted it yet.
Book 2 of the series is “China Rich Girlfriend” which came out in 2015, while the last Kevin Kwan book in the trilogy is titled “Rich People’s Problems”, published in 2017.
