Laine Hardy (age 18) of Lousiana had a wonderful duet with singer and songwriter Elle King (age 29) during the American Idol 2019 Top 20 All-Star Duets round.
Elle and Laine performed one of the best songs of the 1960s, “The Weight”, which was originally recorded by Canadian-American group The Band.
The audience and American Idol judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan felt the “party with the Hardy” vibes and swayed to the cool duet of Laine Hardy and Elle King.
Laine Hardy made it through the Top 14 contestants for American Idol 2019, joining Laci Kaye Booth, Ashley Hess, Walker Burroughs, Madison VanDenburg, Uche and Riley Thompson in the next level of the competition. The other half of the Top 14 will be named on Monday, April 8, 2019.
