Riley Thompson (age 16), one of the youngest American Idol contestants and currently a high school student in Texas, performed an astounding duet with country pop singer and songwriter Brett Young (age 38) during the American Idol 2019 Top 20 All-Star Duets round .
Brett and Riley sang “Like I Loved You”, one of Brett Young’s most popular songs, in front of a live audience and judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie.
The judges were talking among themselves as Riley and Brett performed, wowed by Riley’s high notes and how she blended harmoniously with Brett Young.
Riley was later named as one of the first 7 contestants to join the Top 14, which included Laci Kaye Booth, Ashley Hess, Walker Burroughs, Madison VanDenburg, Uche, and Laine Hardy. The next 7 contestants who will join the Top 14 will be named on Monday, April 8, 2019.
