Beat Shazam, a musical game show, got some sad news for the viewers. A contestant named Alan Smith died two weeks after filming the Season 3 Episode 4 of the show which was released on June 10, 2019.
Alan Smith’s team identified a lot of popular songs and won $260,000. The said episode was taped in February 2019. Alan Smith died at the age of 49.
Alan Smith was a member of the Sensational Soul Cruisers, an a 11 man horn band based in Jackson, New Jersey, performing songs from the 60s, 70s, 80s, Old School Classic Soul, R&B, Motown and Disco. The group often played at the Jersey Shore.
During his appearance on Beat Shazam, Alan Smith and his fellow band member Taj Jay talked about a time they were joined by Bruce Springsteen on stage. Also entertaining the viewers by dancing to the hit song “September”.
At the end of the Beat Shazam episode, the show revealed the sad news about Alan Smith’s passing.
Jamie Foxx, the host of Beat Shazam, took to twitter to send his condolences to Alan Smith’s family.
Alan, my man!! U showed up, you showed out and you won that money for your family. We love you man. You’re #BeatShazam family forever.
For those of you who watched tonight’s episode, as you may have seen, Alan is no longer with us.
We are thankful we met this wonderful spirit. He came to our show, shared his light and we are deeply saddened. Praying for Taheem, his family and sending our condolences. Beat Shazam.
