Golden Buzzer act Kodi Lee (age 22) sang an emotional version of ‘Lost Without You’ at the Finals of America’s Got Talent 2019 (Season 14).
“Lost Without You” is a song by British singer-songwriter Freya Ridings. It peaked at No. 9 on the UK Singles Chart in October 2018.
Kodi Lee, the blind and autistic singer from Lake Elsinore, California, stunned everyone with his performance. The audience chanted his name after his rendition and everyone gave him a standing ovation, including AGT judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Julianne Hough, and Gabrielle Union.
Judges Comments:
Gabrielle Union, who pressed the Golden Buzzer for Kodi Lee during the Auditions, said that Kodi Lee has changed the world. “He changes every room he enters. And when he said, ‘I think I’d be lost without you’, I think the whole world would be lost if we have not found Kodi Lee. Thank you for blessing us all Kodi, thank you so much.”
When Terry Crews asked Howie Mandel for his comments, he said, “Two words come to mind, “Heck Yeah! I think Season 14 is the season of Kodi Lee and if I have to predict, you’re worth much more than a million, but I think you’re gonna walk out of here with a million.”
Julianne Hough said, “Kodi Lee, when you get on that stage and you open your mouth and you sing, time stops. And you impact us in a way that we get to share this moment collectively together forever, and you create that moment for us. So, thank you.”
Simon, who was shown with his eyes closed as he listened to Kodi perform, said:
One of the most beautiful things I’ve ever ever heard, I’m gonna be really honest with you. Genuinely Kodi, your film and that song and that lyric and you, everything about it was – like I very first said about you – it’s like being in a movie. Look guys, I’m gonna say this about you and everybody else, it’s so easy to assume that you know it’s a shoo-in. Everybody needs to vote, but after that, that was as good as I’ve ever heard.
