German singer, accordionist, and dancer Hans announces his 2020 campaign to be the winner America’s Got Talent: The Champions 2020 (Season 2) with a speech that we will never forget. Hans gave a very lively cover of “Bang Bang” during the semifinals of AGT Champions 2020.
“Bang Bang” is a song recorded by English singer Jessie J, American singer Ariana Grande and American rapper Nicki Minaj. It was written by Max Martin, Savan Kotecha, Rickard Göransson and Minaj. The song was released as a digital download by Lava and Republic Records as the lead single from Jessie J’s third studio album Sweet Talker (2014). It is also included on the deluxe version of Grande’s second studio album My Everything (2014), serving as the third single from that album. “Bang Bang” debuted at number six and later reached number three on the US Billboard Hot 100. It was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 57th Grammy Awards (2015), and won Favorite Song of the Year at the 2015 Kids’ Choice Awards. In November 2017, “Bang Bang” was certified six-times platinum by the RIAA, and has sold 3.4 million copies in the US since its release.

Hans is apparently a crowd favorite, advancing to the Finals via the Superfan vote. Alesha Dixon, Howie Mandel, and Heidi Klum gave Hans a standing ovation for his performance but Simon Cowell remained seated.
Howie Mandel said, “This is so much bigger than this show. You are on Twitter, you’re on a reality show. You’ve got hats, you know what can happen in this country.”
Heidi Klum spoke in German to her compatriot. What she said translated to her wanting Hans to advance to the finals. She said he’s so great and so creative and she loves him more than anything.
Alesha Dixon said that out of all the acts for the night, Hans’ presentation was the best by far. She said Hans was fabulous and thanked him for making them all feel great.
Simon Cowell said he shouldn’t have loved Hans’ performance, but “I did love it.”
America’s Got Talent: The Champions (Season 2) is a spin-off of America’s Got Talent (also known as AGT), a televised American talent show competition, created by Simon Cowell. Produced by Fremantle for the NBC TV network, the show first premiered on January 7, 2019. It functions similar to AGT, but involves a variety of participants taken from across both AGT and the Got Talent franchise – including winners, finalists, live round participants and other entries – who compete against each other to secure a place in a grand final, in which the winner receives a cash prize and the title of America’s chosen “World Champion” within Got Talent.
