Wynonna Earp is a supernatural Western horror TV series developed by Emily Andras, based on the comic book series by Beau Smith. Melanie Scrofano plays the series’ titular character, the great-great-granddaughter of legendary lawman Wyatt Earp.
In the series, the witty and wild demon hunter Wynonna Earp returns to her hometown and battles revenants, the reincarnated outlaws that the elder Wyatt killed.
Syfy acquired United States rights for Wynonna Earp, premiering it in the US in April 2016. Three seasons have since aired. Filming for a fourth season began in 2020, but it was suspended due to the coronavirus or COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, Season 4 premiered on July 26, 2020.
The first 6 episodes of Wynonna Earp Season 4 will culminate in a mid-season finale airing on Sunday, August 30 at 10/9c. Production on the final 6 episodes of Season 4 is slated to resume this summer in Calgary.
In Season 4, the Earp Curse is broken, and Wynonna would love to be celebrating with cold whisky and hot donuts. But she has to rescue everyone she loves, save her hometown named Purgatory, and take on her most diabolical enemy yet, without her trustworthy gun called Peacemaker.
