Filthy Rich is described by FOX as a “Gothic family drama in which wealth, power and religion collide – with outrageously soapy results”. It presents a world in which everyone has an ulterior motive and no one is going down without a fight.
The new series from Fox Broadcasting Company is from writer/director Tate Taylor (“The Help,” “The Girl on the Train”). It is based on the 2016 New Zealand comedy-drama TV series of the same name, which was created by Rachel Lang and Gavin Strawhan. It is executive produced by Abe Sylvia, Brian Grazer, Francie Calfo, John Norris and Tate Taylor. Lead star Kim Cattrall also serves as a producer on the series.
The Filthy Rich cast also includes Melia Kreiling, Aubrey Dollar, Corey Cott, Benjamin Levy Aguilar, Mark L. Young and Olivia Macklin, with Emmy Award nominee Steve Harris and Aaron Lazar.
It was announced in February 2019 that five-time Emmy Award nominee and Screen Actors Guild and Golden Globe winner Kim Cattrall portrayed the lead role in the pilot. In May 2019, it was announced that the production of Filthy Rich had been given a series order. It was originally supposed to start airing in the fall of 2019 but was pushed back to spring 2020 due to scheduling conflicts. Its schedule was moved further because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
