Aaron Wallace’s fight continues in season two of “For Life,” as the wrongfully convicted prisoner-turned-litigator and social crusader embarks on a more personal journey. Aaron is motivated by the hope of being reunited with his family and reclaiming a life of freedom to take up the mantle against systemic injustice from outside the prison walls. For Life Season 2
Inspired by the life of Isaac Wright Jr., For Life is a fictional serialized legal and family drama about a prisoner named Aaron Wallace (Nicholas Pinnock), who becomes a lawyer, litigating cases for other inmates while fighting to overturn his own life sentence for a crime he didn’t commit. His quest for freedom is driven by his desperate desire to get back to the family he loves and reclaim the life that was stolen from him. The show will also examine the flaws and challenges in the penal and legal systems.
On February 8, 2019, the production officially received a pilot order. The pilot was written by Hank Steinberg who was also set to executive produce alongside with Alison Greenspan, Curtis Jackson, Doug Robinson, Isaac Wright Jr. and George Tillman Jr. Production companies involved with the pilot include G-Unit Film & Television, Doug Robinson Productions, ABC Studios and Sony Pictures Television.
On May 11, 2019, it was announced that ABC had given the series order, now titled For Life. On November 21, a premiere date of February 11, 2020 was announced accompanied by a series trailer. In March 2019, it was announced that Nicholas Pinnock, Indira Varma, Joy Bryant, Mary Stuart Masterson, Boris McGiver, Tyla Harris and Dorian Missick had joined the cast the in the pilot’s lead roles.
English actor Nicholas Pinnock (age 46) portrays the lead role of Aaron Wallace. He is best known for his roles in the British television series Marcella and Top Boy. Aside from his role in For Life, Pinnock is also starring in the anthology series Criminal: UK.
For Life has earned positive reviews from critics. On review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes, the series has an approval rating of 86% from 14 critics. The audience score is much higher at 93% based on 29 user ratings.
