I love the song choice. Gwen and I, we listen to tons of music out of the 70’s. Do you do a lot of that? (Sullivan said he loves to cover Jim to the Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan and other singer-songwriters). I’m going to have a hard fight on my hands, I think with Gwen because that’s her favorite music in the world…I just love how it cuts through, and you had perfect pitch. I think you’re a storyteller, and I’d be proud to be your coach.

These two don’t like to change classics, and I love to take it somewhere interesting in a vocal competition setting. I was waiting for that one spot where it deviated and maybe shined a little light on who you were and not just the classic song. And that’s the only reason why I didn’t turn around.
