Prior to her unmasking, the Swan peformed “I Am What I Am” by Gloria Gaynor. She landed in the bottom two along with Sausage and performed “Black Velvet” by Alannah Myles during the sing-off. She failed to get the nod of the judges and was voted off the competition, while Sausage advanced to the next round.

Swan was revealed as English singer, tv personality, and actresss Martine McCutcheon who gained prominence through her roles in the soap opera EastEnders and in the romantic comedy Love Actually. Though some viewers correctly guessed who the Swan is, it was only Jonathan Ross who made the right guess among The Masked Singer judges / panelists.

Asked by host Joel Dommett why she wanted join The Masked Singer UK, Martine replied, “I just thought it would be so lovely just to just come up and have fun.”
The clues for Swan were explained after the reveal. The Tiffany lamp was a clue to Martine’s character Tiffany Mitchell in “EastEnders”. The ballroom in her clue videotape was where she filmed the video for her track “Any Sign of Life.” The bills were clues to her 2 appearances in the crime series “The Bill”. The bluebirds hinted towards her role as Mandy in the tv series “Bluebirds”.
In her interview after the unmasking, Martine said only her husband, who’s her co-manager, knew that she joined The Masked Singer. She was desperate to tell her little boy, who loves the reality show and she knew he’d be excited. But she said it was serious stuff, that she signed a contract and “you do not tell a soul” because it will ruin the whole thing. She said, “The secrecy and the military operation from start to finish is like unbelievable. These guys need to run the country.”
Her take away from her experience on The Masked Singer? Martine said, “I think I’m going to take away from this that I still love so much to perform. I still love the glitz and glamour. It’s just been great to get up and sing big songs again. It’s been so much fun.”
Martine McCutcheon (age 44), had minor success as part of the pop group Milan when she was just 14. Her career blossomed for playing the role of Tiffany Mitchell in the BBC’s soap opera EastEnders. Her role as Natalie, the secretary and love interest of David (Hugh Grant) in the 2003 romantic comedy Love Actually, brought her more recognition. She won the National Television Award for EastEnders, and the Empire and MTV Movie awards for Love Actually. She then embarked on a pop career as a solo artist. Her debut studio album, You Me & Us (1999), peaked at number two in the UK, and spawned the UK number one single “Perfect Moment.” In 2002, she won a Laurence Olivier Award for her portrayal of Eliza Doolitle for My Fair Lady.
The second series of the British version of The Masked Singer premiered on ITV on December 26, 2020.
Joel Dommett, Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall and Rita Ora all returned for their second season as host and panelists. Ken Jeong was replaced by British comedian Mo Gilligan on the panel for series two, due to travel restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic which prevented Jeong’s participation.
The series features 12 contestants, namely Badger, Blob, Bush Baby, Dragon, Grandfather Clock, Harlequin, Robin, Sausage, Swan, Viking, Seahorse, and Alien.
