Winter in Vail follows Chelsea Whitmore (Lacey Chabert), a Los Angeles-based event planner who decides to quit her job and move to Vail, Colorado, where she recently inherited the chalet of her late uncle Grady. She soon finds out that the chalet needs urgent repair and hires the local contractor Owen Becker (Tyler Hynes) to help her. Together, they put on Strudelfest to highlight the charm of Old Vail. Even though a few scenes of Winter in Vail were shot on location in Vail, Colorado, the majority of filming took place in the Canadian province Alberta, with shooting locations including Calgary, Banff National Park, Bragg Creek, Mt Norquay, and Priddis.
American actress, voice actress and singer Lacey Chabert (age 38) portrays Chelsea Whitmore. Chabert gained prominence as a child actress on television for her role as Claudia Salinger in the series Party of Five (1994-2000). Her film credits include Lost in Space, Not Another Teen Movie, Daddy Day Care, Mean Girls, Dirty Deeds and Black Christmas.
