The Walking Dead Season 10 finale
The Walking Dead is an American post-apocalyptic horror TV series based on the comic book series by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard, and developed for television by Frank Darabont. It premiered on the cable network AMC on October 31, 2010. The AMC series features survivors of a zombie apocalypse, trying to stay alive under constant threat of attacks from the mindless zombies, also known as “walkers”.
In February 2019, the series was renewed for a tenth season, which premiered on October 6, 2019 and will conclude on April 4, 2021, consisting of 22 episodes. The tenth season focuses on the preparation of the united communities in a war to end the threat of the Whisperers. It is set several months after the massacre perpetrated by Alpha (Samantha Morton) during the community fair.
The planned season finale for the tenth season was scheduled to air on April 12, 2020, but post-production was delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, the episode aired on October 4, 2020, with an additional six episodes added to the tenth season to broadcast from February 28 to April 4, 2021. Season 10 will also be the final season for series regular Danai Gurira, who has portrayed Michonne since the third season.
In October 2019, the series was renewed for an eleventh season consisting of 24 episodes, which AMC confirmed would be the series’ last and would broadcast from 2021 to 2022. The conclusion of the main series will be followed by a spin-off featuring Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride as their characters Daryl and Carol, that is set to premiere in 2023.
