Season: American Idol 2021 (Season 19)
Host: Ryan Seacrest
Judges: Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie

The nineteenth season of the reality show singing competition American Idol premiered on February 14, 2021 on the ABC television network. It is the fourth season to air on ABC since the series reboot; Ryan Seacrest returns as host. Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie return as judges and Bobby Bones as mentor.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, the show offered its first ever live virtual auditions to aspiring contestants through its Idol Across America program using custom-built Zoom technology. The remote auditions took place from August 10 to October 28, 2020 in 50 states plus Washington, D.C. as well as a number of open call auditions, and from these the producers selected the contestants who can then audition in front of the judges.

Two back-to-back performances! Debuting her single “Love Me, Leave Me” on the American Idol stage for the first time ever, Casey rocks the stage, giving us all the energy, passion and talent we’ve come to know and love from her. Next, Casey takes us back to her audition at the beginning of this season and performs Mötley Crüe’s “Live Wire,” reminding us all that she is the QUEEN of Rock this season!
