American singer, songwriter and actress Jordin Sparks (age 31) portrays Lou. Sparks rose to fame in 2007 after winning American Idol Season 6 at age 17, becoming the youngest winner in the series’ history. Throughout her career, Sparks has received numerous awards, including an NAACP Image Award, a BET Award, an American Music Award, a People’s Choice Award and two Teen Choice Awards. In 2012, Sparks was ranked at number 92 on VH1’s list of the “100 Greatest Women in Music”. As of February 2012, Sparks has sold 1.3 million albums and 10.2 million singles in the United States alone. Sparks also ventured into acting, pursuing television and Broadway. She debuted on Broadway as Nina Rosario in the musical In The Heights (2010) and also made her feature film debut as the titular character in Sparkle (2012). Her film credits include The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete, Dear Secret Santa, Left Behind, The Grace of Jake, Show Dogs, and God Bless the Broken Road.
Canadian actor Michael Xavier portrays Kyle. Xavier is best known for his roles in the television series The Best Years, Bitten, The Expanse, and Northern Rescue. He played leading roles in several television movies like Ordinary Days, Radio Christmas, The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel, Beware of the Midwife, and You Make it Feel Like Christmas, among others. His feature film credits include In Return, 88, A Swingers Weekend, and Christmas Inheritance. Xavier also appeared in the Hallmark original movies Be My Valentine and Christmas Comes Twice.
