Leading this team is NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon), a skilled investigator.
The show, a spin-off from JAG, premiered on September 23, 2003, on CBS. Donald P. Bellisario and Don McGill are co-creators and executive producers of the premiere member of the NCIS franchise.On March 31, 2022, NCIS was renewed for a twentieth season. The series has three spin-offs, namely, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, and NCIS: Hawaiʻi.
The nineteenth season of NCIS premiered on September 20, 2021. The season is the first with Katrina Law and Gary Cole following the departures of Maria Bello and Emily Wickersham during the previous season. On June 21, 2021, it was reported that Harmon would only appear in a limited capacity during season 19. Harmon’s character (Gibbs) leaves NCIS as a regular after the fourth episode, “Great Wide Open”.
