Boogie Storm finals performance
Boogie Storm were a dance troupe who reached the Final of Britain’s Got Talent in Series 10. They were all popular as they dressed as Stormtroopers during all of their performances.
In their audition, they refused to speak when the Judges asked them to introduce themselves. They then performed to a number of pop tracks, including Fleur East’s ‘Sax’ and Silento’s ‘Watch Me (Whip / Nae Nae)’. They recieved Simon Cowell’s Gold Buzzer, saying ‘you have made my dream come true’.
In the Semi-Final, they again performed to a medley of tracks, along with Darth Vader featuring at the beginning of the performance. Simon said ‘we are possibly looking at the winners of Britain’s Got Talent’, whilst David Walliams described it as a ‘brilliantly original act’.
In the Final, they again performed to a mix of pop songs, including ‘It’s Raining Men’ and Justin Bieber’s ‘Sorry’. Alesha said ‘every time I see you I like you more and more’, and that she ‘really hope do well tonight’. They finished 3rd in the public vote.
It was later revealed by the Liverpool Metro that the group was formed by Lee Seddon, a Liverpool firefighter. He recruited dancers from a dance studio in Liverpool called Jelli Studios , which is owned by Jennifer Ellison from Brookside fame.
Boogie Storm competed on The Champions (Series 1) in its first episode. They now had a young stormtrooper with them. They danced to a medley of songs most notably Just Got Paid by Sigala and Ella Eyre, featuring Meghan Trainor and French Montana, Gangnam Style by P.S.Y., and YMCA by The Village People. Their BGT: The Champions performance reportedly consisted heavily of dances from the video game ‘Fortnite’. Boogie Storm later reached the top three acts for the ability to progress further. Boogie Storm came second in this vote placing one above Ashleigh and Sully, and one below Bello & Annaliese Nock.
In early January 2020 Boogie Storm competed on the second series of America’s Got Talent: The Champions, advancing to the final immediately due to receiving Simon Cowell’s golden buzzer. Simon however did not possess the golden buzzer during Boogie Storm’s episode; which was the second episode of the series, the golden buzzer was intended to be Howie Mandel’s. Simon however stole Howie’s golden buzzer due to Howie refusing Simon’s pleas to use his golden buzzer on the act of Boogie Storm. This therefore makes them the first and currently only act to have ever received a golden buzzer by the same judge twice on two differing editions of a show from the Got Talent franchise.
