F is for Family is an American animated sitcom created by Bill Burr and Michael Price for Netflix. The show is produced by Gaumont International Television and Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Television.
Set in the early to mid 1970s, F is for Family follows the Murphys, a dysfunctional suburban Irish-American family. It is a “family comedy” based on the standup of Bill Burr.
The show premiered on December 18, 2015. Season 2 premiered May 30, 2017 and Season 3 on November 30, 2018. On January 24, 2019, the show was renewed for a fourth season, which is set to be released on June 12, 2020
Bill Burr voices Frank Murphy, the 39-year-old family patriarch, with Laura Dern as his wife Sue Murphy, Justin Long as his eldest son Kevin, Debi Derryberry as his daughter Maureen, and Haley Reinhart as his young son Bill.
The first season consists of six episodes, shown in a serial manner, written by Bill Burr and Michael Price (Emmy award winner for The Simpsons).
The series is well received and acclaimed by the critics. Kevin Michael Richardson (Rosie) earned an Emmy nod for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance.
