Blake Shelton found it remarkable that Micah can explode with his voice from a softer tone to hitting the big notes, without running out of breath, ever. “I don’t know how you do all that, but I thought it was a great job,” he said.
Coach Kelly Clarkson said Micah is one of the best vocalists in the competition. “You are so incredibly gifted, it is insane. That is a big song. The fact that you were so effortless about it, like jumping all around in your range, you’re incredible,” she said.

Micah Iverson Sings Elton John’s “Your Song” – The Voice Live Top 17 Performances 2020
“Your Song” originally appeared on Elton John’s eponymous second studio album (1970). The song was released in the United States in October 1970 as the B-side to “Take Me to the Pilot”. Both songs received airplay, but “Your Song” was preferred by disc jockeys and it eventually reached number eight on the Billboard chart. In 1998, “Your Song” was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
Season 18 of The Voice premiered at 8PM on February 24, 2020 on NBC and will air Mondays at 8 PM. John Legend, Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton returned as coaches for their third, fifth and eighteenth seasons, respectively. Nick Jonas joined the panel as a new coach, replacing Gwen Stefani. Meanwhile, Carson Daly returned for his eighteenth season as host.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, production has done some adjustments. For the first time ever, there will be only three weeks of Live Shows: the Playoffs, the Semi-Final, and the Finale. That’s a big drop compared to six weeks of Live Shows in Season 17.
The three weeks of live shows will also air as lives done at each contestant’s and coach’s home.
As to the voting system, the television audience will vote to save their favorite artists and artists who receive the fewest votes will be eligible for the “Instant Save”. America will then save their favorite performer by voting on “The Voice” app (available on iOS and Android) or NBC.com. The artists with the fewest number of votes will be “sent home” or eliminated each week.
