Prequel to the hit Star Wars movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story this series follows the adventures of master spy for the Rebel Alliance Cassian Andor. Andor, a tense nail-biting spy thriller created by Tony Gilroy, is set to arrive on Disney+ in 2022. Diego Luna, reprising the role of rebel spy Cassian Andor from “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” will be joined by a fantastic new cast that includes Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Fiona Shaw, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller and Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma. Andor is an American streaming television series created by Jared Bush for Disney+. It is a prequel to the Star Wars film Rogue One (2016), following the character Cassian Andor five years before the events of the film. The series is produced by Lucasfilm, with Rogue One writer Tony Gilroy serving as showrunner.
Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk reprise their respective Rogue One roles as Cassian Andor and K-2SO. Lucasfilm was developing a number of live-action Star Wars series for Disney+ by February 2018, with a series focused on Andor announced that November, along with Luna’s involvement and Stephen Schiff’s hiring as showrunner. Schiff was replaced by Gilroy in April 2020. Filming began at the end of November 2020 in London, England, with Gilroy unable to direct as planned due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Andor is scheduled to be released in 2022, and will consist of 12 episodes.
