Prior to her unmasking, the Seahorse peformed “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” by Kylie Minogue.
So who is the Seahorse on The Masked Singer UK 2021?
Seahorse was revealed as British singer, songwriter, rapper, television personality, and actress Mel B (Melanie Brown), also known as Scary Spice when she rose to prominence in the 1990s as a member of the girl group Spice Girls. Among the judges / panelists, only Jonathan Ross was unable to guess Seahorse’s real identity.
Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall and Rita Ora were able to guess that Seahorse is Mel B prior to the reveal. Mel B thought she disguised herself pretty well with her voice and accent and trying not to be like herself. To that, Ora said, “Sometimes when you’re too iconic, you’re too iconic.” Mo cited that Mel B have such a distict twang on the way that she speaks. Davina noticed that Mel B was disguising but she said “sure” differently.
Mel B said, “I’m very shocked but glad at the same time that you guessed me.”

Asked by host Joel Dommett why she wanted to do The Masked Singer UK, Mel B replied, “Well, because the show is a great show and for a start you just get to not be yourself for a second.” She said the rest of the Spice Girls would probably be annoyed that she didn’t tell them.
The clues for Seahorse were explained after the reveal. “The Seahorse Show” was a clue to Mel’s work as a TV presenter. The red lips on the sink hinted towards Mel B presenting “Lip Sync Battle UK”. “They look unique” hinted to her distinctive look and style as “Scary” from the Spice Girls. Mel Be also explained that the clue of stealing a toilet roll from a total legend’s house referred to the time when they were all invited to Nelson Mandela’s house, and she nicked a whole bunch of toilet rolls for her hair and make-up team and kept some for herself.
Mel B (age 45), together with her group the Spice Girls, sold over 85 million records worldwide. Spice Girls became the best selling female group of all time.
Going solo during the Spice Girls’ hiatus, Mel B’s song “I Want You Back” from her solo album Hot (2000), topped the UK Singles Chart. Her other hit singles include Tell Me, Feels So Good, Today, and For Once in My Life.
Since 2007, Mel B has established herself as a television personality and talent show judge. She has participated in Dancing with the Stars Season 5. She has also served as judge on the Australian and British versions of The X Factor, America’s Got Talent, and The Voice Kids Australia. Mel B has also been a co-presenter on the Australian version on Dancing with the Stars (2012), and on Lip Sync Battle UK (2016-2018).
As an actress, Mel B starred in several films inluding Spice World, LD 50 Lethal Dose, The Seat Filler, Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast, Chocolate City: Vegas Strip, and Killing Hasselhoff.
The second series of the British version of The Masked Singer premiered on ITV on December 26, 2020.
Joel Dommett, Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall and Rita Ora all returned for their second season as host and panelists. Ken Jeong was replaced by British comedian Mo Gilligan on the panel for series two, due to travel restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic which prevented Jeong’s participation.
The series features 12 contestants, namely Badger, Blob, Bush Baby, Dragon, Grandfather Clock, Harlequin, Robin, Sausage, Swan, Viking, Seahorse, and Alien.
