Among the panelists, Jenny McCarthy was able to guess who Phoenix is while Ken Jeong was also spot on with his first impression guess. Meanwhile, some of The Masked Singer fans were able to guess the celebrity behind the Phoenix mask even before the reveal .

The Phoenix was revealed as American television personality, author, and retired Olympic gold medal-winning decathlete, Caitlyn Jenner. Jenner is known as the most famous transgender woman in the world.
Robin Thicke‘s first impression guess was American actress and LGBTQ+ advocate Laverne Cox. He stuck with his guess because of the clues Orange is the New Black, and the initials ME which he thinks could mean an Emmy award.
Nicole Scherzinger‘s first impression guess was American blogger, columnist, and media personality Perez Hilton. But she changed her guess based on the crown clue. She said the celebrity is known for the parody show Gay of thrones, and that he recently won an Emmy. Nicole said Phoenix is American hairdresser, podcast host, activist, actor, author, and television personality Jonathan Van Ness.
For his first impression, Ken Jeong said Phoenix could be Caitlyn Jenner. He changed his guess to American drag queen, actor, model, singer, songwriter, and television personality RuPaul. He said all the clues fit with RuPaul like “Here’s the tea,” which he says is a famous RuPaul phrase. He said the race cars refer to the reality competition, RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Jenny McCarthy‘s first impression guess was also Caitlyn Jenner. She said the person behind the mask has a lot of children who are popular. She also noted Phoenix’s statement that she was hiding behind her mask her whole life. So, Jenny was certain that Phoenix is none other than Caitlyn.

Caitlyn Jenner said she joined The Masked Singer because she likes challenges. “I race cars, I fly airplanes, it kind of keeps you going. Something new, something different. So for me, it was fun. You could only work on the golf game for so long,” she said.
Asked what her kids might say, she replied, “They’ve always known Dad’s a little crazy, will try anything. Life’s short, you got to enjoy it.”
A clue about the Phoenix was explained after the reveal. The crown is a clue to Caitlyn being drafted by the NBA’s Kansas City Kings.
Caitlyn Jenner (born William Bruce Jenner) had a six-year decathlon career, culminating in winning the men’s decathlon event at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, setting a third successive world record and gaining fame as “an all-American hero”. The season began with two groups of five, Group A and Group B, then will introduce a new twist in which “wild card” contestants will enter the competition throughout the run of the show for a chance to unseat another contestant. The contestants for Season 5 have a combined “26 Grammy nominations, nine multi-platinum singles, four Oscar nominations, three Super Bowl appearances, six gold medals and two world records among them”. Costumes for this season include Black Swan, Chameleon, Grandpa Monster, Phoenix, Piglet, Raccoon, Robopine, Russian Dolls, Seashell, and Snail. This season also includes a non-contestant mask called “Cluedle-Doo”, who will interrupt the show and give out new clues.
