Show: American Idol
Season: American Idol 2021 (Season 19)
Host: Ryan Seacrest
Judges: Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie

The nineteenth season of the reality show singing competition American Idol premiered on February 14, 2021 on the ABC television network. It is the fourth season to air on ABC since the series reboot; Ryan Seacrest returns as host. Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie return as judges and Bobby Bones as mentor.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, the show offered its first ever live virtual auditions to aspiring contestants through its Idol Across America program using custom-built Zoom technology. The remote auditions took place from August 10 to October 28, 2020 in 50 states plus Washington, D.C. as well as a number of open call auditions, and from these the producers selected the contestants who can then audition in front of the judges.

Two back-to-back performances! Debuting his single “23” on the American Idol stage for the first time ever, Chayce gives us the sort of heartfelt, authentic and incredible performance we’ve come to know and love from him. Immediately after that, Chayce performs Chris Stapleton’s “You Should Probably Leave,” convincing us all that we should definitely NOT leave until we’ve watched this entire performance multiple times!
