Watch Jimmy Kimmel’s interview with Lena Heady as she reveals stuff about the show’s final season.
English actress Lena Heady (age 45) plays the role of Cersei Lannister on the HBO fantasy drama series Game of Thrones (GoT). Recently, she visited the American late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The show’s host, Jimmy Kimmel, honestly told Lena Heady that it surprised him to see Lena Heady with a long hair. Because on “Game of Thrones”, as Queen Cersei, Lena Heady wears a short hair wig. Lena Heady calls it “the itchy turnip”.
After shooting the eighth and final season of “Game of Thrones”, Lena Heady admitted that she burned the wig because she wanted to. She didn’t enjoy wearing it. According to her, they finished shooting GoT Season 8 in October 2018.
Jimmy Kimmel is dying to see Game of Thrones Season 8 because according to him, “It’s been too long. It’s been like ten years since the last season. I want it. I want it already. I’m impatient. What takes them so long?”
Lena Heady was laughing, and responded, “It’s coming.” But Jimmy Kimmel insisted that they already finished it and jokingly said, “Winter was coming, too. Winter never came.”

Jimmy Kimmel went on asking about how the scripts for the show was distributed, whether they get the full scripts or they get pieces of those for “Game of Thrones” final season. According to Lena Heady, the scripts were given to them in full.
Having those information on their hands, she said they’re lying if anyone of the cast says they didn’t read through the end of the scripts to know what’s really going to happen. She’s sure they all did flick to the end of the scripts because who wouldn’t be curious?
Every cast member got the scripts, they read it for a little while, then Lena Heady said they had a big read through. According to her, it was only for “Game of Thrones” season 8 that they did a table read. It was when all the “Game of Thrones” cast was in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It was really emotional for her.
As to the one that screws around during the GoT season 8 table read, Lena Heady admitted that she’s a culprit, and there’s a few of them that screw around. But after the director yells “Cut!” for the series wrap, Jimmy Kimmel was interested in what happened after that.
Lena Heady thought it’s been nine years and it’s been amazing, and that she’s happy to go find new things. She said that “Game of Thrones” creators David Benioff and D. B. Weiss gave everyone drawings of the story boards and they were giving speeches for each of the main “Game of Thrones” character. It was really moving and that made her emotional.

He asked Lena Heady if she’s rooting for Queen Cersei, she wittingly said, “Someone has to.” Jimmy Kimmel is hoping that in the end that somebody is on the iron throne, but he doesn’t necessarily want it to be Queen Cersei. He jokingly said to Lena Heady, “It’s nothing against you.”
At the end of the interview, Jimmy Kimmel begged Lena Heady to tell David Benioff and D. B. Weiss to hurry up with show because he can’t wait until the official air date of “Game of Thrones” season 8 which is on April 14, 2019.
