When it comes to video games, what automatically comes to mind are the big 3: Nintendo Switch, Sony PlayStation, and Microsoft’s Xbox. But there’s a new kid on the block.

Google recently posted a tweet on Twitter which includes the GDC 2019 teaser. Google promises to reveal its vision for the “future of gaming” at the upcoming Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2019.

The event will be held from March 18 to Mar 22, 2019, and will take place at Moscone Center, San Francisco, California.

Now, people are excited for Google’s gaming announcement at the GDC 2019. Google will reportedly unveil a device for streaming games. The said device is tied to their cloud gaming service called “Project Stream”.

Project Stream will let you play video games with whatever computer you have. Google will handle the heavy lifting for you through its powerful servers that will process the latest version of the game at high frame rates and resolutions. Google will encode the game into a stream and deliver it via the internet.

Meanwhile, it’s long-rumored “Project Yeti” would be the hardware that would run Google’s video game streaming service.

At the GDC 2019 event, Google could also unveil their game controller that they’ve been working on. Its patent caught people’s attention as well, which shows a controller with two thumbsticks, trigger buttons, shoulder, face buttons, a D-pad, and a rectangular body. Also, it’s compatible with a voice assistant. If that’s the case, you would be able to use Google Assistant via the controller.

Google is set to showcase 16 presentations on the first day of the GDC 2019 event. It appears that they really have big plans for penetrating the gaming world.

Google is not the only one aiming to take some market share in the gaming industry, though. Tech giants like Amazon and Apple have also shown interest in game streaming. With the increasing number of big companies getting into video gaming, we expect to see a much better gaming experience and more titles because that’s what the competition is for.
