The Bachelor 2020 (Season 24) had a three-hour premiere on January 6, 2020. Peter Weber the Bachelor (age 28), met the 30 beautiful contestants and seemed very pleased with the roster of single ladies vying for his heart.
But Peter Weber got the shock of his life when The Bachelorette Hannah Brown, with whom he had a heartbreaking past in Season 15 of the reality TV dating game, came out of a limo with her usual radiant smile.
To refresh your memory, Hannah picked Jed Wyatt as the winner of her season on The Bachelorette (Season 15). She got engaged with Jed for a very short time but broke it off immediately when she learned he has a girlfriend back home. Tyler Cameron was the runner-up of the season while Peter Weber came in third. Peter was sent home by Hannah on Week 9 of The Bachelorette.
While the girls shrieked and panicked seeing Hannah Brown in the house, Hannah told Peter she just wanted to return the pilot wings that Peter gave her on The Bachelorette.
But Hannah’s appearance on the premiere of The Bachelor 2020 didn’t end there. She hosted the event for Peter’s second group date for the week, which consists of Lauren, Sydney, Natasha, Alexa, Mykenna, Alayah, Savannah, Kelsey and Payton. Hannah asked the girls to share a s** story in front of a live audience.
While the women prepared their stories, Hannah told a producer she still cared for Peter but believed things wouldn’t work. Then she was shown crying alone backstage, and as Peter went to check on her, that’s when their emotional heart-to-heart talk started.
As their talk drifted to Hannah’s season of “The Bachelorette”, Hannah tearfully told Peter, “I don’t know what I did.”
Peter asked a pointed question, “You know how you asked Tyler out on the last episode? Did it ever cross your mind to maybe ask me?” He said he doesn’t want to be someone’s third option. He said it was tough, because he found out that Hannah moved 20 minutes from where he lived. “All this stuff kept happening. I thought that I was not confused, but now I don’t know,” he said.
Then Peter asked, “What would you say if I asked you to come and be part of the house?”
Hannah answered, “I mean, maybe?” On whether she regretted sending Peter home, Hannah replied, “Yeah, Peter. I question it all the time.”
As to why she asked Tyler out after the season and not Peter, Hannah said Tyler had been “reaching out”, unlike Peter. “You didn’t say anything…I didn’t know where you were. I knew you were upset and dealing with it, so I didn’t reach out to you. And you didn’t reach out to me. I never knew if you just wanted to get past it, wanted to be the Bachelor. I mean, I thought you wanted to be The Bachelor,” she told Peter.
The whole meeting with Hannah seemed to confuse Peter and where he thought he was.
He told the producer, “I can’t help how my heart feels. I look at her, and I just don’t want to stop looking at her, and I want to just kiss her and just … just like have had all this work out. And it didn’t, and I know it didn’t. And I feel like such a jerk because I have such an awesome group of girls here, expecting to meet someone that was truly ready to have this work for them as well. And I don’t know.”
The episode ended on that note, a cliffhanger with Peter totally confused about what he should do about his feelings for Hannah and his role of being The Bachelor.
