On a vacation in Tuscany, two families – one Danish, one Dutch – meet and become friends. Months later, the Dutch family extends an invitation to the more conservative Danish for a holiday weekend getaway at their countryside home. However, it doesn’t take long before the joy of reunion is replaced with misunderstandings. The Dutch hospitality quickly turns unnerving for the Danes, and they find themselves increasingly caught in a web of their own politeness in the face of eccentric… or is it sinister behavior.

Speak No Evil is a 2022 Danish psychological horror drama film directed by Christian Tafdrup (Parents, A Horrible Woman). The screenplay is written by Christian Tafdrup and Mads Tafdrup. Speak No Evil is scheduled to be released in select US theaters on September 9, 2022 then via streaming on Shudder on September 15, 2022.
This horror thriller film is produced by Jacob Jarek, with Ditte Milsted, serving as executive producer. It premiered on January 21, 2022 at the Sundance Film Festival and has been released earlier in Denmark on March 17, 2022. Speak No Evil won the Buncheon Choice Award for Best Director at the 2022 Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.
