Astronaut performed “Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran during the Group C Championships round on Week 9 of The Masked Singer 2020 (Season 3).
“Shape of You” was released as a digital download in January 2017 as one of the double lead singles from Ed Sheeran’s third studio album ÷ (2017). The song peaked at number one on the singles charts of 34 countries, including the US Billboard Hot 100. It won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Solo Performance at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards.
The Masked singer judges Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and guest panelist Will Arnett were stunned by Astronaut’s rendition. When Astronaut had some incredible runs, Arnett commented, “Come on, that’s a performer!”
Astronaut earned a “Safe” vote from the audience and advanced to the next round of The Masked Singer (Season 3).
