Beginning his search for Shishigumi in the Dark Market, Legosi is soon joined by the grudging Gouhin after Legosi convinces him of his feelings for Haru. Driven by Haru’s lingering smell and Gouhin’s advice, Legosi unleashes his bestial instincts, allowing him to fight his way past the Shishigumi guards. While thinking about Legosi, Haru finds the strength to stand up against her captors, allowing Legosi to reach her just in time.

While his friends at school notice his absence and begin to worry, Legosi defeats the Shishigumi Boss in a bloody fight to save Haru. As he and Haru leave the Shishigumi hideout, the Boss tries to shoot Legosi in the back but is instead killed by Louis, who has come to Haru’s rescue as well. As they rest in a love hotel for the night, Legosi admits that it was he who attacked Haru at the auditorium that night; Haru confesses that she has always suspected it, but still came to respect Legosi for his kind nature. But even as they prepare to have their first sex together, their opposing natures as predator and herbivore get in their way yet again.

After her instincts of wanting to be eaten cease, Haru apologizes for ruining the mood. They return to school, where Juno corners Haru and, after finding out they didn’t have sex, challenges her for Legosi’s heart. The Meteor Festival begins, but before Legosi can confess to Haru, Juno brings him on stage and announces his heroism for saving a herbivore to the crowd, who applaud his bravery. She attempts to light a candle with him, signifying a romance, but he leaves in search of Haru, who had trudged off believing Juno would be better for Legosi than she would. Legosi finds her and confesses that he loves her and wants to be better for her, to which she replies that she’ll wait for him. Sometime later, Legosi (unbeknownst to him) encounters Tem’s attacker at school and invites him to walk beside him, but then sees him smiling.
